School Improvement Planning 2019-2020
At Somers Park we are committed to improving to ensure that we provide a first class education for the children in our school.
As a result of rigorous self-evalution, the following school improvement priorities have been set by the School Leadership, for the academic year 2019-2020.
a. To develop the impact of the thinking skills curriculum through introducing a structured approach to the teaching of oracy.
b. To ensure that provision for all children, including the disadvantaged and SEND, enables them to make better than expected progress.
c. In all subjects and all phases, increase the proportion of children consistently demonstrating that they are working at greater depth within the expected standard.
Build upon the ethos of the school through making explicit, a sustainable and clear vision for Somers Park and Malvern Vale Schools
To introduce an approach to relationships education which reflects the requirements of the school community and British society.
Increase the impact of middle leadership on the curriculum provision at Somers Park and Malvern Vale.
To make adjustments to the curriculum to develop children's confidence and excellent skills in speaking and listening.
